Brewer- James Emery Leland, 70, passed away December 13, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 9, 1946, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Harold W. and Pauline E. (Andrews) Leland. A U.S. Army veteran, he had worked at Guilford Industries and at Hartland Tannery. He was a past member of the Bangor Fire Department and after relocating to Sangerville, he joined the Sangerville Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing at Black Stream. James is survived by his son, Ronald Leland of Holden; a daughter, Jessica Hayes of Florida; five grandchildren, Owen, Benjamin, and Cooper Leland of Holden, and Cara and Tyler Hayes of Florida; and his brother, David Leland and his wife, Sue, of Sangerville. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by a son, James Jr., his sister, Jolene Wickett, and a granddaughter, Kymee Hayes.
