Milo- Duane Wendel Smith, 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 24th, 2024, due to natural causes. Duane was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 28th, 1962, and grew up in Bradford, ME. Duane loved the outdoors. He was dedicated to his family and took care of them by working in sawmills and roofing. He loved to spend his spare time hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Duane is survived by his two daughters, Tanya Smith and her fiancé, Wayne Russell, of Brownville, and Tema Smith and fiancé, Eddie Witham; his 3 grandbabies who were his whole world, Charish Plummer, Jessa Plummer, and Wyatt Witham, all of Milo; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; his best friend, Heath Reeves; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Freemond and Theresa McAuthur; his wife, Julia Smith; birth father, Duane Smith Sr.; and step-brother, Jimmy McAuthur.
A celebration of life for his family and friends will be held at a later date. Their is a GoFundMe page set up on Facebook by family to help raise money for cremation and a proper celebration of life.
