Obituary of Charlene L. French

Dover-Foxcroft – Charlene L. French, 84, passed away April 20, 2024, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft, with family by her side. She was born July 3, 1939, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Harold C. and Martha E. (Bragg) Lunt. Her family was her greatest joy, all 58 of them. She was a special mom to Jill, Linda, Jeff, and Ronnie. She was very proud of being a founding member of Tres Dias and her long teaching career. Charlene has touched many lives through Tres Dias, teaching, and church; more than she knows. She will be sorely missed and we will see her again one day. Charlene is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 64 years, John French; four children , Cheryl French, Teresa Taylor and her husband, Scott, Kevin French and his wife, Lisa, and Michelle Church and her husband, Kevin; brother, Sonny Lunt and his wife, Sandy; 10 grandchildren, Trey Weymouth and wife, Amie, Heidi Weymouth, Chris Weymouth and fiancée, Nikki, Corey Weymouth and fiancée, Jasmane, Ryan Taylor and wife, Megan, Andrea Murray and husband, Matt, Megan Carrier and husband, Chris, Matthieu French and wife, Lucy, Miranda Van Deusen and husband, Peter, and Nathaniel Church and fiancée, Amber; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a fourth due in October; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Barbara Tyson. Visiting hours will be held 6-8PM Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service to celebrate Charlene’s life will be held 12 Noon Friday, April 26, at the Corinth United Methodist Church with Dr. Steven Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. A gathering will be held after the burial at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
