Dear Nancy, Mike and family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a friend in every season of my life. I always valued her observations as they were always accurate. She was so kind and gave so much of herself to others. She also was a wonderful example of graceful aging. She rejoiced when I became a grandmother and reminisced about what her grandchildren had meant to her. For me, it was uplifting to be around her and I shall long remember that glorious 90 minutes we spent together at her kitchen table last summer.
I am so grateful to have had her in my life.

So sorry about the passing of Martha. She was a special lady. I used to joke with her that I wanted to be like her when I grew up. Years ago she volunteered for my first grade classroom to help with the library at Abbie Fowler School when there was no librarian.

We well remember what it was like to be in your First Grade class and be treated with kindness every day! Maybe God kept you on this earth for 104 years to show everyone how people should be treated. You visited our home when you were still driving at 98 years of age and we will always cherish that visit. Such a Special Lady…… With Love, John & Rachel Pingree

Martha was a colleague of mine when I taught in Dover. She was so patient and kind, not only with the students but also with us new teachers. My mother, Rosalie Nutting as a teenager, had Martha as a basketball coach I believe. She loved Martha as I did. She always referred to her as "Sweet Martha". I will miss our visits. My condolences to the family.

Mrs. Rollins was a kindergarten teacher of mine teaching with Marion Doore, a swimmer of the YMCA pool as I life guarded, a friend of ours as Carol and I met her walking and at her house, plus she always smiled and talked. Martha gave too many as she placed herself second to everyone that she knew and met. Sorry to all of her family as losing will affect many she was with.

Martha lived next door to my mother, Susan Annis. Martha and I began writing letters back and forth for many years. She told me many sweet stories of her childhood and her relationship with my mother. I loved Martha and will miss her sweet letters. Rest in peace lovely lady.
