Milo – Wilma J. Stanchfield, 79, passed away January 10, 2024, at her home. She was born June 25, 1944, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Rita (Joyce) Chlebowicz. Wilma proudly served her country for nearly 30 years. She started with the United States Air Force and retired as a Sergeant First Class with the Army National Guard. In 1997, she and her daughter, Sonya, started making specialty foods as Stanchfield Farms and attended many shows; they earned a special invitation to the New York Trade Show. Wilma was a well-educated woman with multiple Master’s degrees and had a passion for art. She worked as an art teacher, independently teaching watercolors, and for the local high school. Wilma served multiple terms as a Milo Selectperson and worked with the Milo Historical Society on their art shows as a judge.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Willard Stanchfield; daughter, Sonya Goddard and her husband, Robert; granddaughters, Kayla Goodine and Lexis Goddard; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bryce, and Brynn. She was predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Priscilla Bass.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be conducted 1PM Friday, May 10, 2024, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
