Fonda was like a sister to me since 1976 - sisters by choice rather than blood. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, humor, hard work, resilience, courageousness and faith as a sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, and educator. We shared a love of reading, horses, the sea, and guys who were best friends. She is forever in my heart.

Eric, Maria, and Mr Nadeau, Mrs Smith was one of my favorite teachers in school! She was very caring and concerned for her students! I will never forget sitting in her shorthand classes, I remember what the class looked like even today. She and Mr Smith made a great team up in the business wing! Very influential couple that made an impact on my life, in athletics and education. Even after high school they were still showing care and concern for me. My heart is saddened for you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fonda's loved ones. We are saddened by her death. What a positive attitude she has had all these years as she dealt with Carroll's illness and death, and Jerry's tragedy, and then her own medical issues. We miss her but will always remember her common sense approach to life and how she dealt with life's curveballs.

I am so sorry for your loss. Fonda was one of my favorite cousins - she and I were born in the same month! When we were kids, I loved visiting her and her family on the farm whenever we got to Maine to see family. She was a good, kind person and will be sorely missed.
