Every year when we would come to Maine for the FA dinner we would visit with Jim and Linda. When we would leave Id ask them to come for a visit in Florida. Every answer including last year was is it closer than Newport? Terry and Hannelore Gardner.

I can't imagine what more can be said about Jim. He was a fine man, always cordial or concerned. He was quick to think beyond his illness and wanting to know how YOU were doing instead. I have missed seeing him out and about. Sometimes I would feel bad for his wife when they would have arrived at the Shop and Save and might still be in the first aisle a half hour later! It was so important for him not to miss anyone that he wanted to check in with. There's a reason the ice cream is up in the front corner! Rest in Peace my friend.
Sincerely, Martha Kurzius

My heart goes out to my cousin, Linda, and her family, as well as Pam's entire family on the loss of Jim. He was one of the nicest, kindest men I've ever known in town. He always had a smile for me and a pleasant chat anytime I saw him. Jim will be missed in our community. May many, many years of wonderful memories help to get you through this difficult time.

Grampie's smile painted the world in such pretty colors. His friendly nods and laughter made any day into a special one just for interacting with him. His deep roots and wide branches always held his family close to his heart, and he made room for friends, neighbors, and those that needed a good word, a friendly conversation, or a direction or two. He was ready with a quick joke, a good story, or a lesson to learn. He always gave us a good story to tell others, too. He was always there to listen and recap the week's news with a phone call or a visit. His kindness twinkled in his eyes, ready to give anything he could to anyone that needed anything. Love you always, Grampie. I'll see you in everything good, until we meet again.

Grampy Jim, how lucky am I to have you as my Grampy. How lucky the community has been to have you be a part of it. You always asked people how they were and truly listened to their replies. You never missed a beat right up to the very end. You have taught me to, treat others kindly, enjoy the outdoors, watch the birds, hold strong to your beliefs and face life and death with humor. Thank you for being you. You will be missed here and I believe you will be doing something you love with people you love wherever you are now.

Jim surely was a pillar of our community and will be missed by so many. What a kind and gentle man he was; one who always spoke when he saw you no matter how well he knew you. My condolences to his family having lost such a special man.

Dear Pam: While it is the circle of life, your Dad's passing leaves a huge feeling of loss for all who knew him. A life well-lived, as clearly your Dad so lived, brings many memories which can never be taken away and keeps your Dad close inside your heart. Share those memories and they will bring smiles and tears as you all walk the Path of Grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and friends, as you celebrate his life on Wednesday. Hugs, love, and my deepest sympathy. Linda Stevens

Dear Linda and Jim's family, Jim was such a kind and loving soul. you could depend on a smile and a warm greeting whenever you saw him. He always called me by name, which made me feel so good, knowing all the many folks he must see in the course of a day. he sincerely wanted to help anyone who had a question or needed something specific. if it wasn't there, he'd see that it got ordered. A true pillar that will be missed.
