Milo - Jeffrey Joel Larson, 64, died unexpectedly at his home in Milo, ME. Jeff was born March 16, 1959, to Charles and Selma Larson. Jeff was a lifelong resident of the Milo-Brownville area. A 1978 Penquis Valley High School graduate, Jeff immediately started working after graduation, and worked at Guilford Industries, Dexter Shoe, Saucony Sneaker, and Labree's Bakery making many friends at each one. From a young age Jeff had a strong work ethic, starting a paper route with his brother Chuck at age 10. All his life he loved helping his neighbors and community, especially the elderly, and would assist with shoveling snow and mowing lawns. Jeff loved local history, genealogy, jigsaw puzzles, and coin collecting. Throughout his teens Jeff competed in local horse shows with his ponies, Pat and Rip Van Winkle, and horses, April and Desiree; winning many blue ribbons and awards, often coming in first place in his categories. For the last 20 years he had been a volunteer at the Brownville-Brownville Junction Historical Society and since 2015 served as a board member. Jeff had a great sense of humor, and he delighted in telling jokes and sharing stories with his friends and family. Jeff is survived by his son, Tom; mother, Selma; brothers, Chuck (Dana), and Stan (Jennie); sister, Lori (Dave Giroux); niece, Angela (Kyle) Pfeiffer, and her daughters; and nephew, Andrew; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as many friends in the community he loved. He was predeceased by his father, Charles. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, at Brownville Community Church, followed by a reception. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Brownville-Brownville Junction Historical Society at P.O. Box 794, Brownville, ME 04414.
