Obituary of Robert Romeo Boisvert

Guilford – Robert Romeo Boisvert, 88, passed away peacefully October 25, 2023, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born February 26, 1935, in Rhode Island, the son of Frank and Juliet (Grandchamp) Boisvert. Robert worked for Bowerman Construction for over 25 years before becoming a wholesale lobster broker. Bob was an incredible all state football and basketball player in High School and was later inducted into the West Warwick, Rhode Island Sports Hall of Fame. Bob as his friends and family knew him was an artistic individual who took great pride in his crafts. He loved spending time working on his handmade knives and embellishing the handles with gem stones and deer horn pieces. He also made leather sheathes that the knives were kept in. He made dozens of authentic necklaces of Native American style which he fashioned from objects found in the natural world. Bob had a great sense of humor and always had a funny story to tell. He was an avid deer hunter and could hardly wait for deer season to start each year. He led a simple life and enjoyed the beach and lying in the sun in the early morning hours. Bob enjoyed skin diving and spear fishing for Striped Bass off Pt. Judith in his 30’s and 40’s. Bob is survived by two daughters, Deborah Essex and husband, Butch, and Kathryn Lindgren and husband, Larry; four grandchildren, Emma Salavaggio, Katherine Smith, Nigel Lindgren and Noel Lindgren; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Easton Smith, Magnus and Francie Lindgren, and Brody Lindgren; brother, Roland Boisvert; the mother of his children, Suzanne C. (Pelletier); and several extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Michelle Boisvert; companion, Josephine Tarr; and siblings, Edgar and Cleo Boisvert. In accordance to his wishes, there will not be any services. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
