Obituary of Jeffrey Alan Kaufman
Houlton, Mars Hill, and Dexter– Jeffrey Alan Kaufman, 62, passed away July 26, 2023, in a Mars Hill nursing home. He was born December 29, 1960, in Verdun, France, the son of Roger and Beverly (Garnett) Kaufman. Jeff grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1980. After high school he studied culinary arts at EMVTI.
Jeff held numerous jobs until he found his passion as a long-haul trucker running up and down the east coast and throughout the Midwest. He had a real love for hunting and fishing, cooking for friends and experimenting with food, and Magic: The Gathering, with a social network of many caring friends.
Jeff is survived by his father, Roger Kaufman; siblings, Doug Kaufman and his wife, Ute, and Kelly Phillips and her husband, Anthony; niece, Megan Taylor and husband, Ryan, and their children, Beckett, Piper, Finley, and Maxwell; and nephew, Chad Phillips and wife, Allison, and their children, Colin, Anna, and Abigail. He was predeceased by his mother, Beverly, and grandparents, Francis and Bertha Kaufman, and Norman and Barbara Garnett.
The family wishes to thank Northern Light AR Gould rehabilitation center, dialysis unit, and nursing home for their compassionate and exceptional care. A special thanks also to Jeff’s friends and neighbors who assisted with Jeff’s needs and care.
A graveside memorial service will be held 1PM Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Dover Cemetery, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
