Obituary of Marilyn Elaine Willsey

MILO - Marilyn Elaine (Randall) Willsey, wife of the late George Nelson Willsey, died at the age of 90 on July 22, 2023, in Milo. She was born January 16, 1933, in Bradford, the daughter of Austin and Florence (Brookins) Randall. After high school she attended Barrington Bible College in Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Missions, and a Bachelor of Theology. She accompanied her husband, George, on two terms of service as a missionary in the jungle area of Peru. There, they worked with Conibo, Shipibo and Campa tribes in remote areas for about ten years. They worked to help the natives to learn about the Lord, but they also operated a school, a church, a general store, and a small clinic. When they returned from the field, they both taught at Westwood Christian School in Miami for a year before returning to Maine. After a few years as a homemaker, she launched out and contracted to clean the local Post Office, as well as the offices of the local dentist. After earning her Certified Nursing Assistant credentials, she lovingly cared for older seniors in their homes. She loved cats. And when she was no longer able to work, she opened her home and volunteered to babysit a cat while its owner was away. She is survived by her son, Timothy Willsey, now living in Milo; her daughter, Linda Seavey of Newton, NC; as well as her grandson, Adam, and granddaughter, Melody. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2004; her granddaughter, Rachel, in 2018, and her great-granddaughter, Aleiya, in 2020. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Milo, at 11 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2023, followed by an informal celebration of life in the Fellowship Hall of the United Baptist Church of Milo. Food will be served. Feel free to prepare to share with the group your memories of Marilyn. Those interested may make donations to the Penquis Animal Welfare Sanctuary (P.A.W.S.), located on 39 Clinton Street, Milo 04463. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
