Daniel Hall Sr.

Obituary of Daniel R. Hall Sr.

Dover-Foxcroft – Daniel R. Hall Sr., 64, passed away suddenly April 29, 2023, at his home. He was born November 17, 1958, in New Britain, CT, the son of Daniel and Joanne (McCloskey) Hall. Dan graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1978. In 1981, he went into the Army Reserves where he served and trained many American soldiers, retiring in 2005. He was always proud of his military experience serving the U.S. Army and often acknowledged the perspective and knowledge he gained during this time. Dan worked for Guilford of Maine as a Trainer for many years, before finding a new passion in helping clients through many healthcare agencies. He had a real passion for working with and helping people. His greatest joy was being a father. He completely sacrificed any personal relationships to be the absolute perfect single Dad for Jessica and DJ in his early adult life, all the way up until DJ had graduated from high school. That is when he met Deanna, and they together started all over again with Jake and Laci. He once again made sure that one little boy and one little girl had the absolute perfect father to be there for them every step of the way. Dan could always be found at his children’s events and grandchildren’s sporting events; he especially enjoyed Laci’s horseshows. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and woodworking, golfing, and grilling. Dan is survived by his longtime companion, Deanna Hughes; two sons, Daniel “DJ” Hall Jr. and his wife, Heidi, and Jacob Hughes; three daughters, Jessica Dixon and her husband, Jerod, Laci Hughes, and Rachel Avery; four grandchildren, Jerod “LJ” Dixon, Gabriel Carey, Alex Hall, and Nicholas Hall; four brothers, Leo Hall and his significant other, Suzan Anderson, Jeffrey Hall and his wife, Laura, Kevin Hall and his wife, Louise, and Wayne Hall and his wife, Andrea; two sisters, Bonnie Limoges and her husband, Andre, and Lori Hall; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both of his parents. Dan was a devoted partner, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed but knowing he is with our heavenly Father and looking over all his loved ones, eases the pain just a little. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
