Dexter – Robert “Bob” J. Cooley, 73, passed away April 29, 2023, at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Pittsfield after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1949, in Hartland, the son of Robert F. and Charlene M. (Dore) Cooley. Bob worked as a factory manager for Dexter Shoe Co. for many years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a proud member of the Dexter VFW and DAV. After retirement Bob liked to ride around town in his truck, stopping to talk to friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda (Tilton) Cooley; daughter, Michelle Stankevitz; son, Kevin Cooley and his wife, Tracey; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Zoe Stankevitz, and Grace and Alex Cooley; sister, Sharon McKenney and her husband, Peter; four brothers, Leonard Cooley and his wife, Anita, Jeffrey Cooley and his wife, Linda, Reginald Cooley and his wife, Beth, and Mark Cooley; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Ellen Dore. At Bob's request, there will be no funeral. A graveside service for the family will be held 12PM Sunday, May 21, at the family lot in the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Bob's house immediately following the graveside service from 2-4pm. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
