Jeremy Finson

Obituary of Jeremy Dwayne Finson

Charleston and Bangor - Jeremy Dwayne Finson, 42, was taken home to be with Jesus on April 14, 2023. Jeremy was born April 12, 1981, in Dover-Foxcroft,  and was the only son of Leroy and Heidi (Willinski) Finson.  He graduated from Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts in 2001. Family and friends described Jeremy as a righteous and Godly man.  We were all blessed to have known and loved him.  Jeremy had a heart for others and he gave of his time and resources, and raised money to support the needs of others.  Some of the things he did over the years were: holding Baby Jesus Baby Showers at Christmas for programs like the Shepherd's Godparent Home, which supported mothers and their babies.  He supported babies being born, because we, his parents, chose to have him. He was Santa’s Helper delivering gifts to children on Christmas Eve.  He made Card’s By Jeremy and used the donations to support food programs at the Essex Street Methodist Church, the Andrea Ritz Clinic in Paraguay, and The Telephone Pioneers, who sent families to the Special Olympics in West Virginia.  He had a bible study to share the Good News about Jesus. Recently he chose to become a Kingdom Builder at Charleston Church, supporting missions all over the world.  Jeremy loved to plan and have barbecues at Boyd Lake with friends and family, go to Special Olympics, go on shopping days with his Grammy Kathy, spend Christmas Eve with family in Milo and Charleston, and to go to church on Sundays to worship with his church family.  He was so happy to have been able to get apart-time job at Buffalo Wild Wings this past year.   Jeremy loved to listen to his scanner and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.  His favorite song was “The Last to be Chosen by Ray Boltz”. Jeremy leaves behind his parents; grandparents, George and Kathy West; grandmother, Linda Thompson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He had so many special friends from his group home and staff, Amicus, Perkins School, Kiwanis, and his family friends.  Today, Jeremy is in heaven with Jesus and we can only imagine his joy with being able to see and walk with Jesus.  Visiting hours for family and friends will be held 5-7PMTuesday, April 18, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be held 1PMWednesday, April 19, at the Charleston Church. Burial will be in the Puddledock Cemetery, Charleston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Charleston Church Kingdom Builders, 185 Main Road, Charleston. Arrangements are in care of the Lary Funeral Home.
