Abbot – Frank William Hunt, Sr., 70, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016, at home. He was born January 23, 1946, at home in Abbot, the son of Frank and Rhoda (Fowlie) Hunt. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the drums, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He worked in construction for many years and later retired from Guilford Industries after working there for more than 20 years. Frank was predeceased by his parents and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Violet Hunt of Abbot. He leaves behind many loved ones, including his two sons, Frank “Sam” Hunt, Jr. of Milo, and Kenneth Hunt of Abbot; his grandchildren, Gage Hunt and significant other, Avonna Gustin, Meranda Hunt and significant other, Brendon Mulherin, Samantha and Jonah Johnson, Forrest Hunt, and Lani Rideout; their mothers, Debra Hunt, Georgia Rideout, and Mercedes Cullicutt; and his great-grandchildren, Hope, Hayden, Riley, and Autumn Hunt, and Jase Johnson. Visiting hours will be from 11am until time of funeral service at 1pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Lary Funeral Home, Guilford Chapel, Guilford, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Abbot Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Abbot Playground Fund, c/o Abbot Town Office, PO Box 120, Abbot 04406, or to a local animal shelter of choice.
