I was away when Lois passed, but wanted you to know how much I admired Lois, not only for her contributions to the town, her family, and her Church, but also her foresight to plan for her future when she became diagnosed. What a brave thing to do. At times it was very painful to watch, but at other times it was such a joy to hear her sing(alto, of course), study her math books, and have "hot chocolate" with Joe in the evening. She was a remarkable woman. I am so sorry for your loss, but so grateful that she is at peace. Jayne

Condolences to all of Lois's family and friends - especially to Judy and those closest to her. I met Lois several times throughout the years on trips to Maine. My late mother Harriet Davis Dunlop grew up with Lois - they are cousins. My mom spoke of fond memories growing up with her Maine family. Although Hatsy relocated to Massachusetts after college, she always looked forward to her Summer trips back to Dover-Foxcroft. She loved staying with Lois when she visited for reunions, as Lois greeted her with warmth and laughter. My mom said she felt right at home. I remember Lois being so kind to me too, especially since I tended to be on the shy side I know the cousins are catching up now. May laughter and light be with them. Prayers of healing for Lois's beautiful spirit, which we know now is healthy, renewed and soaring!! Love to all. Joanie

I am so sorry to hear about Lois. Although I have been out of touch and area for the past 18 years the memories of Lois for the prior 35 years is of a very warm and selfless person. To all the family, although I won't be able to physically attend the service please know that my thoughts will be with you all. I am sure that Lois is in heaven. Bless you all, John

Lois was a dear friend over the years, always willing to go that extra mile to help someone. One fond memory is Lois calling & saying, ride to camp with me this afternoon, among many others. Lois loved the Methodist Church and worked many long hard hours to help anywhere in the church that she could. It was always fun to be on a committee or working along side Lois. Lois hasn't realized her last few years, but she still gave us her warm smile when we visited her. God has another angel in heaven with him now. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lois's family and all her friends. God will hold you all in His gentle hands.

I am a former student of Mrs. Reynolds. I was on her math team from 1975-1978 and have such fond memories of her as a coach and teacher. Looking back you could tell how much Lois loved teaching and she was so patient and could Asomehow help you figure out a problem by giving you just enough of a hint to get you back on track. I never thought of myself as good at math until I came under the instruction of Mrs. Reynolds but since then I rather pride myself as a former "mathlete" . I have gone on to get advanced degrees and want you to know that without Mrs. Reynolds in my life, that may not have been possible.
