PITTSFIELD – Florence E. Stockwell, 96, passed away March 7, 2023, at Pleasant Meadows Estates. She was born August 4, 1926, in Hancock, MA, the daughter of Carl and Elsie (Duemling) Blanchard. Florence grew up in Orneville. She worked as a stitcher at The Shoe Shop in East Corinth, she also worked at Rogers Market in Hudson, and she drove for Eastern Maine Agency assisting in transportation for the blind. She enjoyed walking, playing cards, working on her knitting, cross stitch, and sewing projects, traveling when she had the opportunities, and bowling, especially with her son-in-law, Fred. She also took great interest and pride in her collections. Her collecting focuses ranged from stamps to dolls, M.I. Hummel figurines to candy containers, or most anything considered antique. Florence is survived by her daughter, Erdene S. Badger and her husband, Fred, of Bangor; a son, Dean Stockwell Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Kevin Badger and wife, Minda, Janet Badger, Stephanie Stockwell, Matthew Stockwell, and Garth Stockwell and wife, Desirae; and three great-grandchildren, Connor, Lacy, and Nick Stockwell. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Dean; four brothers, Clarence Blanchard of Florida, Carl Blanchard of Bradford, George Blanchard of Dexter, Irvin Blanchard of Bangor, and David Blanchard of Orneville. The family would like to express their appreciation for the level of care the staff at Pleasant Meadows Estates provided. A graveside service will be conducted 2pm Friday, May 26, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
