MILO – Donald E. Brown, 92, passed away peacefully March 6, 2023, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital. He was born October 3, 1930, in Alton, the son of Cony and Shirley (Hatch) Brown. Donald was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He enjoyed being a cook during his time in Korea. Donald spent 34 years working for Great Northern Paper Company as a foreman in the grind room. He then went on to work at Dexter Shoe Company until his retirement. Following retirement, he spent much of his time well into his 80’s working at the Milo Exxon filling station. Donald loved spending time with his wife, Carole, day trips to the coast, attending fairs, and working on puzzles together. He cherished every moment spent with Carole. When he wasn’t busy spending time with the love of his life, Donald enjoyed going for a good walk, riding his motorcycle, bowling, and being a member of the PRYMCA, where he met his very good friend, Jeff Prestridge, with whom he shared many interests. Donald is survived by his nine children, Rick Brown, Donna Leeman and husband, Roger, Tracy Brown and wife, Denise, Mike Brown, Michelle Webb and husband, Jack, David Brown and wife, Lisa, Tammy Johnson and husband, Dell, Jason Boucher and wife, Sherry, and Scott Brown and wife, Kristi;14 grandchildren, Carrie, Courtney, Casey, Susanne, Lindsay, Francis, Scott, Jonah, Derrick, Taylor, Justin, Faith, Gracey, and Noah; one half brother, Jay Browne, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by first wife, Lucy (25 years); his second wife, Carole (44 years); his parents, his three brothers, and a grandson, Adam. Friends and family are invited to call 5-7pm, Thursday March 9, 2023, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday, March 10, 2023, at SS. Francis & Paul Catholic Church, 128 Riverside Street in Milo. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
