Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Howard

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Milo - Kenneth Wayne Howard,74, formerly of Worcester Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023.  Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Ken grew up on “the hill” off of Swan Ave, the youngest of 3boys in a house his father built with the help of family and friends. He graduated from South High School (class of ‘66) and joined the Navy, a Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Ken was a Worcester Firefighter with an associate’s degree in Fire Science; he also enjoyed painting and wallpapering on the side. He retired in 2002.  He always loved Maine, talking of a quieter way of life and how he would have stayed here after leaving the Navy if it weren’t for family all being in the Worcester area. Ken and his wife Jan moved into the “house on the hill” in Milo in 2010 where they were welcomed into the community and took great pride in their new home, well-kept lawn and flower gardens.  His wife of 53 years, Janice, passed away in the fall of 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Kristiansen and her husband, David, of Brownville Jct., and son, Glen Howard and his wife, Tammy, of Alma, KS. Ken loved to tell stories, especially about the many accomplishments of his grandchildren and grand-daughter-in-law, Wesley Talmadge and his wife, Ish, of Brownville Jct., Nathanael and Liam Howard of Alma, KS, and MacKenzie Howard of Rockford, IL.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 1-4PM Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Three Rivers Kiwanis building, 15 Harris Pond Road, Milo. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed atwww.laryfuneralhome.com.
