Obituary of Charlene M. Philbrook
Monson - Charlene M. Philbrook, 85, passed away December 6, 2022, at her home where she wished to be. She was born July 27, 1937, in Williamsburg, the third of nine children born to William and Fern (Hersey) Larson. She loved to tell the story of living by the train tracks and having to catch the train to and from school as a young girl.
Charlene “Chy” graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1956. She married her husband, Edward, before graduation and they were married for over 60 years before his passing in 2016. She worked for Dexter Shoe in the stitching room for over 30 years.
Chy’s biggest joy was family. She loved family gatherings at her home or anywhere a gathering was happening. She loved camping, fishing, hunting and making mittens and socks for all who needed or wanted them. She loved playing cards with her very special nephew, Jimmy.
Charlene is survived by her children, Cindy Philbrook, Edward Jr. (Tammy), and Lori Stone; sisters, Donna Champagne, Anna Erickson, Betty (Ronald) Dean, and Sandra Watson; sister-in-law, Sonja Philbrook; grandchildren, Jeremy Philbrook, Megan LaPointe, Katerina (Joshua) Bishop, Shereena Boutilier (John Costello) and Christopher Philbrook (Kim Fournier); great-grandchildren, Ethyn Gould, Chace Philbrook, Kyra-Love St. Pierre, Jacob and Chy-Leigh Duncan; step-grandchildren, Amber Moody and Amanda Gray; great-great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Madeline, Aubrey, and Hayden; step-great-great-grandchildren, Blaze, Dalton, Aspen, and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Sr.; son, Mark Philbrook Sr.; grandson, Mark Philbrook Jr.; great-grandson, Gabriel Philbrook; mother and father; sister, Oleva Bouley; brother, William Larson Jr.; twin infant brothers; brothers-in-law, Lenwood Philbrook, Henry Erickson, and Thomas Watson; and son-in-law, John “Stony” Stone.
At Charlene’s request there will be no services. There will be a celebration of life in the spring when we can all gather and remember her. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
