Obituary of Vincent M. Bollea

Vincent M. Bollea, 57, of Beaver Cove, Maine, formerly of Gloucester and Granby, Massachusetts, passed away on October 14, 2022, while on business in Ohio. The Vinman was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Helen and Emilio Bollea on April 23, 1965. He graduated from Granby High School. After high school he earned a certificate from Porter and Chester Institute of Technology and began his career as a Field Service Technician for Gloucester Engineering and more recently, Davis Standard. He worked all over the world installing and servicing equipment in the plastics industry. If you knew Vin you are sure to have heard the stories of his travels, he was never short on words. One of Vin’s many passions was flying his airplane. He made trips to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to his condo in Spruce Creek, Florida, and to many remote places in Maine. On floats, skis or wheels Vin was happiest in the air. The many friends he made flying will forever remember him as someone that was always there to lend a hand, give advice, or turn a wrench. Vin impacted so many lives in a positive way. To know him was to love him, he was larger than life and lived life to his standards. Vin was predeceased by his mother and father, and his uncle, Norman Visnaw. He is survived by his brother, Joe and his wife, Theresa, of Palmer, Massachusetts; nephews, Jacob of Palmer, Massachusetts, and Timothy and his fiancée, Emily, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; aunt, Agnes Visnaw of Wilbraham, Massachusetts; and cousins, Karen Visnaw of Waltham, Massachusetts, and Jeff Visnaw and his companion, Gail Gaudreau, of Granby, Massachusetts. Vin will especially be missed by Hilaire, Chloe, and Connor Kronholm. His love for them was unconditional. Their worlds revolved around each other. “Hey now” Because Vin touched so many lives, in so many places, and he would agree that two celebrations are better than one, we will celebrate his life on two occasions. The first celebration will be held on 2PM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Stress Free Moose in Greenville, Maine. Please bring your favorite dish and your best Vin stories and we will celebrate the way he would want all of us to do. An additional celebration will take place in Western Massachusetts; details will be made available as soon as possible. Please join us in remembering his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Research Foundation or the Alzheimers Foundation.
