Obituary of Gemma Gertrude Tanguay
Greenville - Gemma Gertrude (McCollough) Tanguay 95, died Oct 21, 2016, in Skowhegan, after a short illness. She was born June 13, 1921, in St. Come, Beauce County, Province of Quebec. Gemma was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Greenville, where she worked hard at bingo, suppers, and fairs. She also was a nurse's aide at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital for years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Leontine (Genesse) McCollough; her brothers, Herve and Henry McCollough; her husband of 63 years, Emile M. Tanguay; and Joseph and Marie Achey, who raised her after her mother’s death. She is survived by her son, David R. Tanguay (Glenda) of Lucedale, MS; her grandson, David E. Tanguay and children, Roxanne, Bradley, Ashley; her son, Cayden of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law, Rita Lampenin of Brewer, and dear friends, Shirley Tanguay and Robin Reeder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11am Friday, Oct 28, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, with Fr. Aaron Damboise, celebrant. Interment will be in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charles A. Dean Nursing Home, PO Box 1129, Greenville 04441.
