Please share a memory of Darryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Greenville – Darryl W. Murray, 71, passed away September 25, 2022, with his wife, daughters, and loving dog, Tara, by his side. Darryl was a kind and gentle man who would willingly and happily fix anything. He will be sadly missed by his family, many wonderful friends, and his dog, Tara. Darryl is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Greenville; daughters, Mindy Hanson and her husband, Nick, and grandchildren, Katie and Tucker, all of Shirley, and Kelly Ostrosky and her husband, Seth, of Dover-Foxcroft. He leaves a sister, Judy Murray, and a brother, George Murray and his wife, Sue, all of Greenville. Darryl also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Darryl loved his family fiercely and would do anything for any of them. Darryl was a hard worker his entire life. Darryl worked at Morrell Lumber Company through high school until he decided to go off on his own as a carpenter. He then worked under Les Harding for a few years to learn more about the trade that he loved. Darryl had many loyal employees over the years but Allan Murray was his loyal friend and coworker till the end. Their carpentry skills have been admired and appreciated by many over the years. Darryl will also be remembered for always having a pencil behind his ear and his tape measure at his hip. Darryl was happiest when spending time with family and friends at his camp in Lambs Cove, Moosehead Lake. His loving family and friends will cherish those memories forever. The family would like to thank the staff at Northern Light Charles A. Dean Hospital, Northern Light Cancer Care, and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care Darryl received throughout his illness. They would also like to thank all of his family and friends who have been there and done the extra things to make the last couple months easier. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Greenville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Northern Light Charles A. Dean Hospital, 364 Pritham Ave, Greenville 04441. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
