Obituary of Norman M. Sleeper

Dover-Foxcroft and Milo- Norman M. Sleeper, 86, died September 19, 2022, at Pleasant Meadows Estates, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born on November 13, 1935 in Brewer, the son of Verlyn and Blanche (Peacock) Sleeper. Norman attended Milo High School and graduated in 1953. He worked as an aircraft mechanic aboard carriers during the Vietnam War. Norman retired from the US Navy in 1973, and moved back to Milo. He worked at Dexter Shoe and the American Thread. He also was a volunteer firefighter. Norman is survived by his daughter, Ramona and her husband, Asa Pickard of Bowerbank; three grandchildren, Amanda and Ray Williams, of Sanford, William and Judy Pickard, of Bowerbank, and Asa and Trista Pickard, of Kansas; five great-grandchildren, Addison, Katherine, and Sophie Pickard, of Bowerbank, and Asa and Vesper Pickard of Kansas; and former wife who remained a close friend, Joyce Hanson. Norman was predeceased by his wife, Maudie Sleeper. A graveside memorial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Milo on September 29, 2022, at 11:00am.
