Obituary of Renee D. Paxton
Monson - Renée D. Paxton passed away early on the morning of September 3, 2022, at Northern Light C.A. Dean Hospital after a prolonged illness. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Ronnie Paxton, and her sister, Heather Paxton. She is survived by her loving husband, Dave Bures; her children, John Bukovac, and Alicia Rose Bures; and siblings, John D. Paxton, Kathryn Paxton-Hill, Tim and Joel Paxton.
Renée was a native of Ohio. She grew up in Oberlin and attended Oberlin High School and Lorain Community College. She later lived in the Cleveland area until moving to northern Maine and making a home in Monson almost two decades ago. Renée found joy in her church community. She enjoyed learning new things, connecting with people, and engaging with the world around her.
She worked in the printing industry, was a school library attendant, a clerk at the grocery store seafood counter, and worked for several years as a caretaker for people with disabilities.
Renée loved to read and always had a book to recommend. She enjoyed historical fiction, and was especially interested in stories that center women, and focus on women’s roles in history. She also enjoyed mysteries, science fiction/fantasy, and nonfiction.
She was passionate about food, growing veggies in her garden, trying new recipes, and sharing meals with family. Renée always had a knitting project going. Her family received an abundance of scarves and sweaters as gifts. She had a lot of love to share and she was deeply loved in return. She will be missed.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 10 AM in Shirley, Maine.
