Greenville - Diana J. Nelson, 79, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022. She was born December 21, 1942, in Greenville, the only daughter to Ada V. Simpson of Greenville. Diana held many different jobs, including nurse’s aide at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital and at the Greenville school cafeteria. Diana was predeceased by her husband, David Nelson, of Monson and a very special cousin, Charles Barriault, whom she called a brother. She is survived by her children, Jana (Daigle) Crossman and husband, Brian, of Greenville, Charlotte Daigle of Greenville and Calvin Daigle of Indiana; two grandsons, Aaron Crossman and fiancé, Emily, of Greenville, and Cazz Jobin of Greenville; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Kennedy, Haley, Atlas, and Jaclyn. She will be deeply missed by her family and special friends, Linda McIver, Carol Stirling, Nadine Patrick and Marilyn Trahan. The family would like to give special thanks to the C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital and Ambulance Crew. A private gathering will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, North Guilford Road, Monson, at 10:00 am Saturday, September 17, 2022. A reception will follow at the Bartley Event Center 241 Pritham Ave., Greenville, at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greenville Recreation Department, c/o Red Cross Beach Project, PO Box 1109, Greenville 04441. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
