Obituary of Linda Keef

Milo - Linda Keef, 81, passed away July 28, 2022, after a brief illness. Linda died peacefully at home with her family by her side and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Milo, January 22, 1941, the daughter of Allan E. Horne and Norma (Greene) Horne. Linda graduated from Milo High School in 1959. She was a member of the Lady Panther’s 1959 championship basketball team. She married Laurence Keef and they had three sons. Linda held several positions over her career and retired from L.L. Bean. Linda enjoyed photography, knitting, crocheting, kayaking and hiking, but most of all her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Linda was a member of the United Baptist Church in Milo, sharing the love of the Lord and helping others. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Laurence; their sons, Lance of Standish, Peter of West Bath and his fiancé, Lisa Redfern, and Paul of Westbrook and his wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Jennilee McNeil, Joey Keef, Lauren Austin, Jacob Keef, Kristian Keef, Mary Keef, and Sarah Keef; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Norman “Tom” Horne (Carol), Karen H. Clark (Michael), Howard “Hap” Horne, and Janet H. Richards (Donald); a sister-in-law, Patricia Steinberg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ricky; her granddaughter, Meaghan; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Mackles. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the United Baptist Church in Milo. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Friends and family are invited back to the church after the committal to enjoy refreshments. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
