Dover-Foxcroft – Rev. Beatrice “Bea” Helen (McKusick) Violette, 89, passed away July 8, 2022, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born August 28, 1932, in Dexter, the daughter of Irl L. and Nona P. (Brawn) McKusick, and granddaughter of Albert and Ethel (Lawrence) McKusick and George and Ethel (Nutter) Brawn, who raised her. Bea attended Dexter schools and graduated in 1951, and then graduated from Fisher Jr. College, Class of 1953. She married her beloved Robert “Bob” Violette on November 20, 1954, after he returned from serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After working in Boston, they returned to Maine and resided in Dover-Foxcroft. Bob passed October 19, 1998. In 2002, Bea graduated from Andover Newton Theological School with the Degree of Master of Divinity. She was ordained at the First Baptist Church of Waterville, by the American Baptist Churches of Maine. Since 2003, she has served the Sebec Village Community Church. She retains close ties with American Baptist Women of Maine and American Baptist Women in Ministry. Bea proudly served as part of a chaplain team for Mayo Hospital for many years. She is forever grateful for family who are friends and friends who are like family. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Steve and Sheila Heneise officiating. Committal will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sebec Village Community Church,734 Sebec Village Road, Sebec, ME 04481, or to the American Baptist Women of Maine.
