Guilford – Melissa Jean (Woodard) Bubar, 44, went to her permanent home June 26, 2022, at Northern Light EMMC, surrounded by her loving family, due to kidney failure. She was born January 19, 1978, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Marlon G. and Karen Ruby (Rogers) Woodard. Melissa attended Guilford area schools her entire life and graduated from P.C.H.S. While in school she worked with children with special needs. She loved all babies and children. Melissa faced many challenges in her life: diabetes, depression, hearing loss, and substance abuse. Even through it all she had a smile for everyone. Her favorite pastime was sitting by a fire and spending time with her granddaughter, her pride and joy, Sierra. She just loved being her “Mim.” Melissa loved her family and friends, and will be sadly missed. Melissa is survived by her parents; daughter and granddaughter, Jessica and Sierra; son, Jacob; sister, Tawnya and her husband, Michael; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Marlene; Grammie and Grampie Brown; Grammie and Grampie Rogers; many special aunts and uncles; and some real special friends. A graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the family lot in Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
