She was born December 4, 1934, in Carbondale, PA, the daughter of John Sr. and Helen (Schermerhorn) Mannion. Sally was a woman of great faith and abundant love for God, her husband Ken, her family and her friends. Sally and Ken enjoyed vacationing with their young family at Moosehead Lake, especially their stays at the West Outlet Camps in Rockwood. Upon retiring from running West Outlet camps, she also worked for the Rockwood and Greenville post offices part time from the 1980s into the early 2000s. Sally loved being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Batman and Robin (she was Robin), tea parties on the shore, hide and seek, lots of story book reading and swings in the hammock. Sally had many friends that she cared deeply for and enjoyed their company. Sally's smile and genuine open approach was appreciated by all who met and knew her. She especially loved to be around children. Sally enjoyed learning new skills with friends and enjoyed music, painting, chair caning, braided rug making and exercise classes. Sally cared deeply about her town, state, and country. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph Cemetery Committee, the Lakeview Women’s Club, and enjoyed working at the local elections throughout the years. Sally was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Ken; siblings, John Mannion Jr., Helen Moran, and Claire Shea. She is survived by her four sons, Fred and his wife, Jaci, of Tennessee, John, David and his wife, Cheryl, and Eric, all of Rockwood; daughter, Nancy Malinauskas and her husband, Rich, of Garland; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Carli, Nolan, Kyle, Kara, Vincent and Adam; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kendall, Payton, Tristan, Sophia, Elijah, Reya, Ezra, and Josephine; three sisters, Maureen Landsiedel, Janet Grover and her husband, Ken, and Ruth Miley and her husband, Roy; and many nieces and nephews.
