Susan Trafton

Obituary of Susan Gail Trafton

Dover-Foxcroft - We lost our beloved daughter, partner, mother, sister and friend on May 19, 2022, after her courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born October 29, 1959, to Mickey and Barbara (Schultz) Trafton. Sue graduated from PCHS, Class of 1978. She attended Westbrook College and returned home to work at Mayo Regional Hospital. Susan touched many lives and truly had a gift of caring for others. Sue worked many jobs during her 62 years. She was a nurse, foster parent, dispatcher, EMT and ended her career at PQ industries in Dover-Foxcroft. Sue loved life and was the life of the party everywhere she went. Sue always had a comeback and was never afraid to say what was on her mind. She would make you smile, laugh and sometimes shake your head but she always left an impression! She used her sassy zest for life in her battle with cancer and never stopped fighting. Family was the most important thing to her. Sue was predeceased by her father. Sue will forever be missed by her mother, Barbara (Allyn); her partner, Todd Daigle; her children, Joshua (Heather) Smith, Jessica (Colin) Thoreen and Jerrod (Erin) Smith; her sisters, Peggy Cleaves, Laurie (Chuck) Martell, and Julie (Ben) Dawkins; her grandchildren, Cayleigh, Averie, Addison, and Logan Smith, Kent Thoreen, Brittany, Brianna, and Caleb Moon and Morgan (Coty) McLaughlin. Susan also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and so many special friends. Visiting hours will be held 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A celebration of life will take place later this summer. Memorial contributions may be made to Christine B. Foundation, a cancer support group, at 304 Hancock Street, Suite 1A, Bangor 04401. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
