Obituary of George Hichborn

Greenville Junction – George Hichborn, 71, passed away April 22, 2022, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born November 17, 1950, in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of George and Pam (Boudreau) Hichborn. George was a proud, yet humble, veteran, serving in Vietnam. During his time spent in the US Army, he earned many awards including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. George loved hunting and fishing trips at the family camp. He worked for Scott Paper Co. and other logging operations in the Moosehead Lake region. George and Arlene spent early mornings and evenings “eyeball fishing” at the Junction wharf and driving around five-mile square. He also enjoyed being a member of the NRA, the Cecil R. Cole American Legion Post 94, and the Purple Heart Association. George is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Arlene (Warman); daughter, Shanna Owens and husband, Troy, and grandson, Dylan; daughter, Crystal Owens and husband, Billy, and grandsons, Scott, Brenden, and Jay, and granddaughter, Jasmin, all of Greenville; sister, Cheryl Leighton and husband, Vance, of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews; a very special dog, Rosco; and a kitty, Hoot. A graveside service will be held later this spring in the Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
