Please share a memory of Elliott to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxroft – Elliott R. Boyd, Jr., 79, passed away February 24, 2022, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born December 11, 1942, in Boston, MA, the son of Elliott R. Boyd and Anna (Rhodes) Boyd. He grew up in Townsend, MA. After graduation from Northeastern University, he accepted a job at Great Northern Paper Company, in Millinocket. This is where he met his (soon to be) wife, Linda, and a year later they were married. They eventually landed in Dover-Foxcroft where Elliott worked as a controller for Guilford Industries. In 1992 he fulfilled a dream to own his own business. He and Linda bought Fox Brook Variety. They made it a family owned business as Steve and Karen joined in. He eventually retired from Fox Brook and sold the business to Steve & Karen. He then spent his retirement years between Dover-Foxcroft, at camp in Millinocket in the summers, and Gulf Shores, Alabama, in the winter months. There wasn't a happy hour that he missed while in Gulf Shores. Elliott is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Linda (LePage) Boyd; son, Steven Boyd, and his wife, Debra; daughter, Karen Jankunas and her husband, Bob; an AFS son, exchange student Marco Keba, of Croatia; four grandchildren, Nick and Alyssa Boyd, and James and Alex Jankunas; and 3 sisters, Judy, Nancy, and Barbara. Per Elliott's wishes there will not be a funeral, instead a Celebration of Life, AKA a BBQ with free beer, to be held at Steve's house when the weather is nice. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
