I didn't know Doris while living in Dover-Foxcroft; we became Facebook friends a few years ago and I discovered she was truly a friend to all. We had hoped to meet, sadly, it did not come about.
Blessings, Broderick (Ricky) Davis

We are so sorry to hear about our loss. Notice I say our loss because it was a loss to anybody who knew Doris. Her obituary nailed it when it said, “Her smile was enough to boost any spirit.” She was truly an “entertainer” who knew how to “throw a feast”. For years we looked forward to Christmas Eve in Dover-Foxcroft at your home. It was a loss to us when you folks moved away permanently. I regret now that we didn’t get together this past summer, but hopefully if you are in the area next summer, Dane, we can visit with you and reminisce. When you recover from the suddenness of your loss, please give us a call at (207) 723-4887 or (207) 714-0992 as we do not have a current phone number for you. All our love, Dave and Marie Weatherbee

To the Powell & Bray family,
My deepest sympathies in your loss of Doris. My thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4

Doris has been a friend to my husband and I for the past several years in Cocoa Beach, Florida. We had the privilege of being a house guest for many special occasions and especially enjoyed Thanksgiving dinners and St Patrick’s Day celebrations with her and Dane and their many friends. We were so blessed to share so many special times together. Most recently we enjoyed hearing the plans for the new home in Saint Cloud and finally seeing them get moved into this beautiful place. Doris decorated the home with such a flare for color and comfort. She was always the great entertainer, the most fashionable dresser, the warmest, kindest, caring person who could light up a room with her smile. To Dane and her loving family we want you to know how we treasured our friendship with Doris. She will live in our hearts forever, gone but not forgotten. May she rest in heavenly peace!
Our sincere sympathy,
Pat & Betty Flaherty

When Don and I reconnected with classmate, Dane, we were privileged to become friends with Doris. She was one of the most welcoming and caring people we have known. Never an unkind word about anyone. She gifted us with relishes and sweets from her kitchen. The four of us enjoyed many New England "lobster" lunches here in Florida. There are no words that come to mind to express how much Doris will be missed. Love to all of Doris' family.
