Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dexter - Jean Louise Whalen was reunited with her beloved husband, Mickey, on January 18, 2022, after peacefully passing away following a period of declining health. She was born to parents Florida (Gilbert) Stone and Albert Everett Stone and raised by her mother and stepfather, Harry “Bill” Boyington. She will be missed by her children, Kevin and Donna Whalen, Karen and Gary Ellis, and Lisa and Jeff Clingman. She leaves behind grandchildren, Emily Whalen and fiancé, Jay Joaquin, Josh Whalen and fiancé, Laura Theriault, Kyle Heney, Chris and Brianna Heney, along with three step-granddaughters, Rachael Andrews, Angela Bertrand, and Heather Clay. Jean also adored her three great-grandchildren, Joslyn and Adley Whalen and Logan Heney. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Stone of Arizona, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Debbie Jean, along with an infant grandson. In her younger years Jean especially enjoyed time spent with family on Martin and Ruth French’s farm, cheerleading, being a majorette, and working at the local movie theater, where she met the love of her life, Mickey. After raising her family, she went on to work at Womancare of Dover-Foxcroft and then worked for several years at Reny’s Department Store in Dexter. A special thank you to the many friends that allowed her to continue to live independently in her apartment. For that the family is grateful. Per Jean’s wishes a graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Womancare Aegis, 8 Mechanic Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
