Obituary of William Edwin Hathaway II
NEWPORT - In memory of our loving son and brother, William Edwin Hathaway II, who passed away too soon at the age of 65 in his home on December 23, 2021.He was born in Bangor, Maine on March 29, 1956, to Arthur C. and Joan E. Hathaway (both deceased). Will spent his growing up years in Greenville and Dover-Foxcroft. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy and received an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with distinction from the University of Maine. He worked for many years as an electrical designer at Stone and Webster in Boston, Massachusetts, and Kleinschmidt Associates in Pittsfield, Maine. While at Stone and Webster, he helped to design the electrical system for a nuclear power plant. At Kleinschmidt Associates, he had many projects. Some include designing electrical wiring for several hydro-electric dams in the northeast and helping implement a netting system to save the migratory eels in the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
William will be missed by his mother, Donna, his brother and sisters, John, Sue, and Nancy and their families, and his friends. Will had fond memories of time at Wilson Pond and chose to be buried in Greenville in the spring. A funeral service will precede the burial with a date to be announced in the spring.
