Obituary of Robert "Roger" Yeaton
Abbot – Robert “Roger” Yeaton Jr., 70, passed away unexpectedly November 28, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 25, 1951, in Sanford, the son of Robert R. Sr. and Lorraine C. (Dunnells) Yeaton. Roger attended Acton Elementary School and graduated from Sanford High School, Class of 1969. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Roger was very active in the Acton community in his younger years. A loving family man and devoted grandfather, Roger’s talents were many. He was an avid outdoorsman who truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. A handy man at heart, he could fix most anything. Roger absolutely loved to read anything he could get his hands on and could always be found with a book in hand. Later in life, Roger moved to the northern woods of Maine and created a homestead in Abbot with his wife, Joy, making many friends along the way. He left a memorable impression on most everyone he met.
Roger was predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Heather Lee Yeaton. He is survived by his wife, Joy Lyn (Smith) Yeaton; his daughters, Heidi Beth Yeaton and Tosha Lyn Swisher; his brother, Bernard Yeaton and wife, Mary; two sisters, Janice Gallant and husband, Lenny, as well as Gail Long and husband, Dennis; his grandchildren, Vanessa Knox, Lance Letourneau, Sean Yeaton, Tylor Yeaton, and Mark Bshara II; great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Nataleigh, Gwenivere, Melody, Seth, Elliot, Xavier, Zachariah, Willow, Rachel, and Valeria; two beloved nephews, Mikey and Danny Hurst; and many extended family members and friends.
Roger will be laid to rest in the spring of 2022. More information will be released by his family. In lieu of flowers plant a tree in his memory. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
