Milo – Richard L. Graves Sr., 82, passed away October 27, 2021, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born October 17, 1939, in Milo, the son of Lloyd Henry and Violet Eileen (Wadman) Graves. Dick graduated from Brownville Junction High School and attended Beal College. He spent 4 years serving with the United States Air Force and then joined the Army National Guard, retiring in 1991 as Command Sergeant Major. Dick also worked for Maine Bonding Casualty Insurance. He was proud to be a part of the American Legion Post # 41 for many years and served as Commander, Adjutant, and Finance Officer. Dick is survived by his wife, Mary H. Graves; son, Richard Graves Jr. and his wife, Michelle; daughter, Crystal Graves; grandchildren, Kylie, Dustin, and Travis; great-grandson, Prestyn; step-grandchildren, Christy and Troy; Mary’s children, Barbara Mannisto and her husband, David, David Worster and his wife, Ivy, and Todd Worster and his wife, Beth, and their families; brother, Ed Graves and his wife, Margaret, and their children, Peter, Patricia, Kathryn, and John; and several step-children, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffry. He will be greatly missed by many friends, too numerous to name. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held 1PM Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
