Greenville – Rosalie K. Wortman, 77, passed away unexpectedly September 24, 2021, at her home. She was born February 12, 1944, in Greenville, the daughter of George and Bitha (Walker) Hyland. After graduating from Greenville High School, Class of 1962, she attended Kennebec Valley Community College, Fairfield, and studied Business Administration. She returned to Greenville and worked at the Marine Museum for several years, helping to raise funds to restore The Katahdin. She was also a part-time bartender at Leisure Life Lodge, and worked for the Fish and Game Department as office manager for many years where she retired. Rosalie’s two passions were movies and classic rock and folk music. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and family and friends. Rosalie is survived by her son, Roland Wortman, Jr. and his wife, Shyla; four grandchildren, Roland III and Hunter Wortman, and Joel and Josh Wortman; two brothers, John Hyland and his wife, Pauline, and Bruce Hyland; three sisters, Georgiann Jardine, Bonnie Fortier and her husband, Ross, and Debra Ridley and her husband, Dean; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Joel Wortman, and her sister, Lillian Shufelt. A graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at the family lot in Greenville Cemetery.
