Milo- Margaret Jennie (Dunham) Hoxie, 105, passed away on August 6, 2021. She was born in Keegan on May 8, 1916, the eldest of five children of Edmund S. and Annie McIntyre Dunham. She was a 1935 graduate of Milo High School. In January, 1940, she married William E. Hoxie. After being widowed at the age of 35, she devoted her life to her two children, her parents, and all family members. Margaret loved her life at home in Milo and her employment for many years at Treworgy’s Ben Franklin store. Although she enjoyed a few journeys and visited Texas, Canada, Florida and Germany, she was most happy at home. Margaret is survived by her son, William H. Hoxie and wife, Maggie, of Cornish; daughter, Linda Smith and partner, Ben Doody, of China; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul “Wayne” Dunham of Milo; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edmund Eugene “Gene” Dunham, and William H. “Herb” Dunham; and sister, Evelyn Dunham. A special thanks got to her brother, Wayne, and nephew, Gary, for being there whenever needed. Thanks to all family members for their love, care and support. Thanks to Dr. Peck and the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home, Beacon Hospice, Dr. Susan Luthin, and Dr. Stephen Arnold. Without excellent medical care and the support of all, she would not have been able to remain in the home that she loved so much as long as she did. At her request, a private committal service will be held at the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Milo. If desired, contributions in her name may be made to Three Rivers Ambulance, P.O. Box 432, Milo, ME 04463. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
