LaGrange - Robert Dana Armstrong, 81, husband of Jean M. (Brackett) Armstrong died peacefully in his sleep June 23, 2016, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born December 22, 1934, in Lagrange, the son of Charles and Mary (Wing) Armstrong. Dana worked as a logger for many years. Dana loved the outdoors; he enjoyed going for walks, fiddleheading, and working in his garden. His family will always remember him as a collector of just about everything, one who loved a good joke, and an avid Creedence Clearwater Revival fan. Above all, Dana loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, Jean, Dana is survived by his son, Scott and significant other, Elizabeth Ames; two daughters, Joannie Stormwind and her husband, Brian, and Michele Morel and her husband, Michael; seven grandchildren, MacKenzie and Haley Morel, Elliana, Lydia, and Benjamin Stormwind, Angela Bryden, and Garrett “Dana” Armstrong; two sisters, Gertrude Murphy and Elizabeth McEwen; and many nieces and nephews. He leaves a large extended family of in-laws, and many friends. Dana’s family extends a grateful thank you to the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home for their compassionate care for him during the last year. A graveside memorial service will be held 10am Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in the family lot at Hillcrest Cemetery, LaGrange, with Pastor Jonathan Ray officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
