Obituary of Salvador "Papa Chamba" Zepeda

Please share a memory of Salvador to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxcroft - Salvador “Papa Chamba” Zepeda, 104, went to be with his Heavenly Father and Savior on June 21, 2023. Born in 1919 in Mercedes la Ceiba, El Salvador, he lived a remarkable life. Papa Chamba had a reputation for being a bionic man surviving many close calls like: being attacked by bees, bitten by snakes, being hit by a car, falling off a ladder and a roof, falling down a flight of stairs, and numerous illnesses - but he always bounced back. Papa Chamba was a hardworking farmer and handyman, always tending to his crops and livestock. He was a devoted husband and father whose goal in life was for his children to acquire a solid education and have good moral values. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing hymns, and was known for being someone who loved to tease those closest to him. He is predeceased by his wife of almost 70 years, Lydia Zepeda; sons, Adolfo “Fito” Zepeda and Salvador “Chamba” Zepeda; and granddaughter, Cecilia Ramsey. He is survived by his daughters, Rubidia Zepeda, Doris Woodward and husband, Jim, Elsy Reyes and husband, Juan, Anna Hosea and husband, Lowell “Chip”, Sonia Stevenson and husband, David, Lidia Danz and husband, Richard, and daughters-in-law, Ana Maria Zepeda and Felicita Zepeda. He also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family in El Salvador and around the world. The family would like to express gratitude to hospice nurses and Pine Tree Hospice volunteers for their attentive help and care for Papa Chamba in his last weeks. A memorial service will be held 2PM Monday July 3, 2023, at the Dover Cemetery, 163 Vaughn Road, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
