Veazie - A life well lived, Donna Hamilton Ryder, 93, of Veazie, Maine, passed away on July 30, 2026. Donna was born on September 14, 1932, in Rockwood, Maine. She attended Greenville High School and spent a year at Westbrook College. She went on to raise her family in Veazie, Maine, enjoyed summers at camp on Moosehead Lake and in retirement, spent winters in Englewood, Florida

Donna worked at the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Bangor, Maine for nearly 30 years, retiring as the Deputy Clerk-in-Charge. She was passionate about her career and carried out her work with dedication and pride.

Donna was a beautiful quilter and an involved member of both the Orono and Greenville Quilters groups. She volunteered her time with organizations like Altrusa and also volunteered on the Katahdin Cruise Ship. Above all, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Donna was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Clarence "Bub" Ryder, and by her son, Robert. She is survived by her son, Michael Ryder and his wife, Megan; her former daughter-in-law, Beth Kenney; her grandchildren, Brandon, Casey, Carrie (Jasper Hicks), and Chad Ryder; and her great-grandchildren, Grace, Margot, and Nora Hicks.

Donna was loving, generous, funny, and kind, and she will be deeply missed.

A private graveside blessing will be held for the immediate family on Saturday, August 22nd. Family and friends are welcome to stop by the Ryder Camp between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at 158 North Birch Street, Greenville, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
