Helen Raye (Flint) Grant Henderson Obituary
Milo – Helen Raye (Flint) Grant Henderson, 79, passed away peacefully July 23, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born June 6, 1947, in Ashland, the daughter of Frances (Picard) and Robert Flint Sr.
Helen graduated from Ashland Community High School. She worked in Presque Isle as a secretary and met her first husband, Martin L. Grant of Brownville. They moved to Brownville to raise their family. Helen went to cosmetology school and became a well known and liked beautician. She was a very good cook, loved her family, and enjoyed decorating for Christmas. She liked to crochet and made beautiful Afghans.
After her first husband, Martin Grant, passed, she met and married Dean Henderson of Milo. Helen had much heartbreak in life, lots of health issues but the main loss in her life is when she lost her son, Jason Martin Grant. She never got over Jason’s passing. Two years after losing Jason, her second husband, Dean Henderson, passed away.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Lisa Grant-MacDonald of Lagrange; son, Chad Grant and his wife, Crystal, of Milo; sister, Sandra Flint Rouse of Lagrange; sisters-in-law, Mary Flint and Irene Flint, both of Portage; grandchildren, Hillary MacDonald Morrill, Cote Drake, Keith Grant, Hunter Grant, Macee Grant, and Mylee Grant, who Helen said was her partner in crime; and several cherished great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her two husbands, Martin and Dean, and her son, Jason, she was predeceased by her parents, Frances and Robert Flint Sr.; and brothers, Wayne Flint, Robert Flint Jr. , and Charles Flint. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Brownville Village Cemetery, with Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating.
Per Helen’s longtime request from all her heartbreak the obituary is ending with her own words, “Finally it’s over!”
