Gerald D. Hoxie Obituary

Brewer and Milo – Gerald D. Hoxie, 82, passed away peacefully July 11, 2026, at his home. He was born May 13, 1944, in Milo, the son of Sylvanus H. and Georgia (Dickson) Hoxie. Gerald was a graduate of Milo High School and went to Husson College to study business. He served six years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Vietnam and Thailand. He worked as a manager for Service Merchandise for many years.


Gerald is survived by his wife, Jean (Lucas) Hoxie; two sons, Mark Hoxie and Jeff Hoxie and his wife, Kristi; two daughters, Kim Hoxie and Jaime Lynn Hoxie and her significant other, Randy Reardon; sister, Elizabeth Bailey; and four grandchildren, Jared Hoxie, Spencer Proctor, Adam Hoxie, and Brogan Burwood. He was predeceased by his parents, and his daughter, Dodie Hoxie.


The family would like to thank several staff at Gentiva for their kindness and dedication: Sarah, Peter, Randy, and Jen.


Visitations will be held 12PM-2PM Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft, with a committal with military honors to follow at 2:30PM at the family lot in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
