Abbot - Martin B Whitney Jr., 72, passed away peacefully July 5, 2026 with family by his side at Pleasant Meadow Estates in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born October 9, 1953, in Clinton, MA, the son of Ida (Innamorati) and Martin B. Whitney Sr.

For most of his life Marty worked in the community he lived in. He always put the needs of others before his own. He was available when needed day or night. He enjoyed cars, classic rock music, and driving trucks. Most of all Marty enjoyed the company of his family. Moving to Maine to be with them on their farm brought him some of his happiest days. His memory will be cherished by his family and the many lives he touched.

Martin is survived by his three sons, Alex, Myles, and Jay: his mother-in-law, Helen DiMuzio, and life-long friend, Angela Whitney. Also, his five siblings, Deborah Plante, Joan Baer and her husband, Ron, Mary Brazzo and her husband, Charles, Diane Magliozzi and her husband, Chris, and Barry Whitney and his wife, Mary; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Denise Krebs, and his brother, Michael and his wife Connie.
