Sangerville – Myles “Bud” F. Lemieux, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 20, 1941, in Waterville, the son of Simone D.M. (Roy) and Myles F. Lemieux Sr. Bud graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, Class of 1959, and he began his lifelong career in the logging industry, hauling wood all over the state of Maine until he retired in 2012.Bud was well known for his hard work, long hours, and meticulous upkeep of his trucks. He created a reputation in the industry, which landed him the infamous CB handle and nickname, “Sneak.”

In 1962, he married the love of his life, Maxine Joyce Brooks, and together they began making a life full of memories.

Bud loved the outdoors, and on any given day, you could find him hiking, running, hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, grooming, or gardening. He was a founding member of the Four Winds Snowmobile Club, and spent many years as the club Trailmaster, ensuring that no trail ever went ungroomed, each bridge was fixed, every culvert was perfectly placed, and that the groomer received top tier maintenance. He took great pride in having the best snowmobile trails around. In 2019, Bud was named Groomer Operator of the Year by the Maine Snowmobile Association and received a legislative sentiment from the 129th Maine Legislature, as recognition for his dedication to his club and snowmobiling community. As an avid hiker, Bud hiked all of the 4,000 foot mountains in the state, including the entire Appalachian Trail in Maine, much of that with his son and many other great friends. Bud was also an avid runner. During his running career, he ran three Boston Marathons and hundreds of road races. He was extremely competitive and always a top finisher.

Bud’s other greatest joys in life were his family and friends. He never missed a chance to support his son, and granddaughters at every event, big or small. He never missed a birthday, graduation, sporting event, or celebration. Even in his final days, he made sure he attended his granddaughter Bailey’s wedding. Just as he was dedicated to his family, he was a great friend as well. He spent his life making memories with his cherished group of friends; whether it be snowmobile or camping trips, to simple, and sometimes rowdy, Friday nights at their home. Bud was always willing to share a drink, a laugh, and a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maxine Lemieux; son, Craig Lemieux and his wife, Rachelle; two granddaughters, Bailey Lemieux and her husband, Billy Brock, and Meagan Lemieux and her significant other, Cameron Kendall; two brothers, John Lemieux and his wife, Jeannie, and Roy “Butch” Lemieux; sister, Cheryl Williams and her husband, Tom; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two daughters, Terri-Lynn and Amy Lemieux who passed of cystic fibrosis; his parents, Myles Sr. and Simone Lemieux; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Lemieux.

Maxine would like to thank her son, Craig, and all of her family and friends for their support through these final days. She would never have survived without your love and compassionate care.

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held at 1PM Friday, June 26, 2026, at Craig and Rachelle’s home, 55 Harlow Pond Road in Parkman. A private committal will be held in the family lot in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
