Larry Thomas Nickerson Sr. Obituary

Dover-Foxcroft – Larry Thomas Nickerson Sr., 77, passed away peacefully May 26, 2026, at the Togus VA hospital under hospice care. He was born March 28, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Doris (Feeol) and Carlton “Austin” Nickerson. Larry grew up in Dover-Foxcroft and graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1967. He served his country proudly in the United States Army before owning and operating his own autobody garage, Nickerson Autobody, for many years. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and time spent at camp up north on St. Froid Lake. He could often be found tinkering on vehicles or taking a drive, “cruisin”.


Larry is survived by his son, Larry “LT” Thomas Nickerson Jr.; three daughters, Bobbie Nickerson, Marcie Grant and her husband, Eric, and Ashley Jones and her husband, Greg; two brothers, Alan Nickerson and his wife, Barbara, and John Nickerson and his wife, Belle; sister, Carol Falconer and her husband, Doug; ten grandchildren, Katie, Courtney, Connor, Caleb, Jessica, Mercedes, Ezekiel, Silas,Harlow and Elianna; eight great-grandchildren, Carter, Bryson, Audrey, Lorelei, Anastasia, Nathaniel, Jace, and Benny; special friends and caregivers, Karen Dow and Sandy Engstrom; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Edward Nickerson; and son-in-law, Paul Nichols.


Memorial visitations will be held 4PM to 6PM Saturday, June 6, 2026, concluding with military honors, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held 6-9PM Friday, August 7, 2026, at the American Legion Post 29, 78 Park Street, Dover-Foxcroft Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
