Susan Chase Obituary

Dover-Foxcroft - Susan Chase, 75, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dover-Foxcroft, surrounded by the love of those who held her dear.

She was born on December 17, 1950, the daughter of Charles Arthur Chase, Jr. and Madeline "Pat" Virginia Hinton Chase Brochu. Susan was born and raised in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. During her senior year of high school, she moved to Saratogo Springs, New York, where she graduated. She later returned home to Dover-Foxcroft to marry her high school sweetheart, and they raised their two daughters, Gingar and Jamey.

Susan found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments spent with family and friends. Her laughter was truly contagious ~full of warmth and life~ and could brighten even the quietest room. She had a playful spirit and found humor in her harmless pranks, often bringing smiles and laughter to those around her. She was very creative with a love for crafts, and she also had a passion for photographing her grandsons' sporting events, nature and animals ~capturing the beauty in the world around her. Some of her most treasured memories were made at Brewer Lake, where days were filled with laughter, sunshine and time spent with her family.

She dedicated 25 years of her career to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she worked in Medical Records, as a phlebotomist, and in Cancer Registry. Susan took great pride in her work and the care she gave to others, leaving a lasting impression on those she worked alongside.

She is survived by her daughter, Gingar Marden and husband, Craig; her sister, Maria Brochu; her brother Robert "Bobby" Brochu and Cindy Bradley; her grandchildren, Adam Dow and fiancé, Angela, Bradley Dow and Justin Nutter; as well as several nieces and nephews, including Charles "Chuck" Chase, Carolyn Chase Hall, William "Billy" Chase, Michael Chase, Charles Sweetser, Lisa Chase Pacheco, Robert "Rob" Brochu and Kara Kennison. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved daughter, Jamey Sue Rush; her niece Kimberly Ruth Chase; and her brothers, Larry Chase, Randy Chase, Bruce Chase and David Brochu.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Constellation Health Services (Hospice) and Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, whose kindness, comfort and care meant so much to Susan and to all of us during this time.

Susan will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, her playful nature, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A private family burial will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Memories and messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com
