Dale J. Clukey Sr. Obituary
Dover-Foxcroft - Dale J. Clukey Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2026, at his home with family by his side. He was born October 15, 1936, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Lester and Edith (Miles) Clukey.
Dale attended Foxcroft Academy then enlisted at the young age of 17 into the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 20 years in various places around the world as a radio technician, honor guard, and security police. He came home to Dover-Foxcroft. Dale graduated from University of Maine and started his second career for 38 years in law enforcement; retiring as Chief Deputy (1102) for the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department. His favorite place was at camp at Center Pond and spending time with family. His faith guided his life; a prayer warrior for all.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Sandra (Rugan) Clukey; three children, Vicki Royal, Terri-Ann Clukey-Cushing and husband Joe, Dale “Chip” Clukey Jr. and wife, Dora; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Reynolds and wife, Karina, Joshua Conner and wife, Amy, Christopher Conner and significant other, Klaudia Brincat, Heather Peters and husband Ryan, Aaron Uskali, Jessica Brann, Kayla Boone and husband, TJ, and Dale “DJ” Clukey III and his wife, Sarah; fourteen, great-grandchildren, Jared and Brandon Reynolds, Adam Conner and wife, Leah, Allison Conner, Alexa and Elijah Brann, Jacob and Chloe Peters, Isabella Conner, Ellie Brincat, Cedar Boone, and Dale “Quade” IV, Quanah, and Frank Clukey; special grandson-in-law, Matt Brann; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Edith Clukey; brothers, Carleton and David Clukey; sister Carmelita Simila; son-in-law, Danny Royal; and granddaughter-in-law, Sonya Conner.
A funeral service with military honors will be held 10AM Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter, with Pastor Stan Griffin officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the church following the service. Burial will be in the family lot in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
